SK Telecom Launches New Data Femtocell Service

Korean SK Telecom announced on December 26, 2010 the official release of its new network service data femtocell in a bid to increase data capacity for indoor places, according to the Korea Herald. Using 3G network, SK Telecom's data femtocell service is said to work well for small areas, such as homes, schools, and workplaces, supporting a maximum of 20 network users. It is reported that SK Telecom plans to establish 1,000 data femtocell zones in 2010 and 10,000 zones by 2011, aiming to support the unlimited data plan for its Smartphone users.
